Please ensure that you have read through the Flyway Safety before starting the installation.

Flyways should be installed on a machined mounting table with the threaded mounting holes on each of the Flyway’s four feet. For precision locating of the Flyway to the mounting table, dowel hole/slot alignment features are provided on two opposite feet of the Flyway. See Mounting Plate Guide for detailed requirements of a Flyway mounting plate.

For mounting auxiliary equipment directly to the Flyways:

When mounting the Flyway or installing auxiliary equipment to the Flyways take care to not exceed the maximum torque values provided in the Hardware Manual (S3 Flyways/S4 Flyways).

Danger due to improper assembly:

  • Assembly is only permitted to be carried out by qualified personnel.

  • For assembly, only hoisting devices and load-handling equipment that comply with legal regulations are permitted to be used.

  • Hoisting devices, load-handling equipment and means of transport must have sufficient load-bearing capacity and safety.

  • There is a risk of being crushed when lifting loads.

  • Do not step under suspended loads. Staying under a suspended load can result in death.

  • Use mechanical lifting equipment (e.g. crane, forklift) to lift loads over 25 kg.

  • Secure loads to the designated attachment points.

  • Do not place the load-handling equipment on sharp edges and corners, and do not knot or twist it.

  • Observe local fire protection regulations. When cutting materials, do not work with welding equipment or devices that produce sparks.

  • There is a fire hazard due to plastic parts.

  • If necessary, fasteners such as dowels and screw anchors must be removed.

  • There is a tripping hazard!

  1. Carefully place the Flyway onto the mounting plate (M1)

  2. Insert 2x 4mm Dowel Pins (P1 & P2) through the mounting plate and into the Flyway body

  3. Install 2x M8 Screws (S1 & S2)

  4. Remove 2x 4mm Dowel Pins (P1 & P2)

  5. Install 2x M8 Screws (S3 & S4)
