Selecting a Levitation Height

Selecting a Levitation Height

The XBot levitation height selected for an application can affect amount of power required to control the XBots’ motion. Integrators should be aware that increased levitation heights require more power and as a result, the maximum available XBot force decreases with increased levitation heights.

The charts below can act as a guideline to integrators for how the power requirement is increased and the forces available to an XBot are decreased with increased levitation height. When selecting a XBot levitation height for an application, integrators should minimize the height to avoid saturating the system’s power limit or creating instability due to lack of available force.
